Below is more overall details of the tour package and daily itinerary.  Note that with small group private tours, the itinerary is a pretty solid guideline but never set in stone.  It may be changed or adjusted based on circumstances, weather and overall input of the group.

Three Days and Two Nights Fall Colours Tour to Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail.   This is Shared Small Group Tour with up to 7 guests. Pricing is $845 / per person based on double occupancy.  (Single person supplement costs $250 based on availability – please contact); plus taxes/booking fees.

Pricing includes a private transportation in a small group (7 max) return from Eastern Passage with private knowledgeable guide/driver.   Includes two nights accommodations with breakfast; 90 min boat tour from Baddeck waterfront; local evening Ceilidh admission; Glenora Inn & Distillery Tour.    Does not include any other meals or personal expenses. 

Transportation - Ford Transit 150XLT Low Roof. Seating is two rows of bench seats with room for three in each row.  Pleases see this link for photos.  Note that the rear bench seats are a little roomier.   With this being a shared tour guests are encouraged to switch up seating, so everyone has ample opportunity to have a window.  Keep in mind, the goal is to do several stops to allow for photos.  Room for limited luggage of one carry on sized suitcase & one personal item per person. 

Accommodations – Rooms in Baddeck have two doubles beds and Cheticamp have two queens beds, two guests per room; breakfast included.

Itinerary Outline

Friday Day 1 Leaving Eastern Passage by 8:00 am and travel to Baddeck, Cape Breton

  • 7:15 am to 7:45 am - Pickup location can be arranged from your home in Eastern Passage / Cow Bay
  • 7:45 am to 8:00 am – Pickup any additional guests, located outside of this area would need to meet at McCormick Beach Parking lot
  • 8:00 am – Leave Eastern Passage and Travel to Baddeck – Google Say 3hr 45 minutes; However, we will make at least one stop to get out and stretch legs, restroom  - may be an earlier departure based on the number of guests and general input
  • 12:30 - 1:00 pm – Arrive in Baddeck – Free Time; grab a bite, enjoy the area
  • 1:45 pm  - Meet on the docks just past The Freight Shed Restaurant on the Baddeck Community Wharf on Jones Street
  • 1:45 – 2:00 pm – Check in for Ameoba Boat Tour aboard the Winstar – tickets included in package 
  • 2:00 – 3:30 pm – Boat tour; what an amazing way to see the beautiful fall colours ! Look for eagles, seals, learn the history of the area; 
  • 3:30 – 4:00 pm – Check into Accommodations – Ceilidh Country Lodge  
  • 4:00 – 5:30 pm – Free time
  • 5:30 pm – Dinner at the Baddeck Lobster Suppers – or similar based on availability - at own costs – guide will make reservations ahead of time, but guests have the option to opt out.  
  • 7:15 pm – meet at the Baddeck Gathering Ceilidh for an evening of local music (7:30-9:30)– tickets included in package - Short 10 min walk from accommodations
  • Rest of the evening on your own

Saturday Day 2 Baddeck to Cheticamp, Cape Breton 

  • Breakfast - local accommodations
  • 8:30 am Depart for the Cabot Trail (please be ready 15 min before hand to allow time to load up luggage)
  • A bit more of a looser day time wise as we travel to Cheticamp which is about 3 hrs but we will likely arrive mid after based on the number of stops for sights, photos and lunch.  
  • Driving the famous Cabot Trail with a balance of sightseeing, drive thrus to brief stops for photos  
    • Cape Smokey; Ingonish; Keltic Lodge; Green Cove Trailhead; Black Brook Cove; Neil's Harbour; White Point; Cape North; Pleasant Bay; Bog Trail Head
    • Lunch stop in Cape North - Morrison Restaurant - Note: based on group interests it could be a day of a packed lunch/sandwich and eat at a pull out area, or similar - I will gauge the group interest ahead of time 
  • Arrive to Cheticamp - mid - late afternoon 
  • Check into Accommodations – Laurie's Inn  - check in shows after 4pm
  • Evening meal - Le Gabriel - at own costs -  Local musicians on Saturdays - more details will follow as events become posted -  2 min walk from accommodations
  • Times are approximate 

Accommodations – Laurie's Inn - Room with 2 queen beds; includes buffet breakfast


Sunday Day 3 Cheticamp to Eastern Passage

  • Breakfast - local accommodations
  • 9:30 am Depart for Eastern Passage  (please be ready 15 min before hand to allow time to load up luggage)
  • Travel time  directly to Eastern Passage 4.5 hrs but we would expect to arrive later in the afternoon based on today's itinerary
  • 9:30 - 10:45 am Travel to The Glenora Distillery which is maintaining the highlands Scot’s tradition of distilling the heartwarming drink “Uisage Beatha” (The Water of Life) and is Canada’s first single malt whiskey distillery.
  • 11:00 am - Tours at the top of the hour 20 mins but typically last 30-45mins. - Included in the tour package
  • 12:00 pm  leave for our next stop is 1.5 hrs in Antigonish 
  • 1:30 pm - Antigonish - we will swing into the Brown Stone Cafe (or similar) for about 30 - 45 min for a rest break and bite - at your own cost 
  • 2:30 Peace By Chocolate -  the company was founded in 2016 by the Hadhad family, after moving to Canada as Syrian refugees - Movie trailer for the story of Peace by Chocolate
  • 3:15 pm - Continue Eastern Passage about 2 hrs and 15 min.  We will make at least one stop to get out and stretch legs, restroom  
  • 5:30 om - Arrive at McCormick Beach Parking lot to drop off guests who were picked up on Day 1
  • 5:45 - 6:15 pm - Drop off guests to Eastern Passage/Cow Bay
  • Times are approximate
