A 229 year old mystery ... Oak Island is a privately owned island on the south shore of Nova Scotia and is best known for various theories about possible buried treasure or historical artifacts and the many associated explorations that have taken place there since the 1850s.
NOTE: 2025 - We are hopeful for the reopening of public access to the island …
However, until any announcement is made by the owners — The Oak Island Visitor/Interpretive Centre currently remains closed to the public. For full details on this announcement by the owners of the island, please visit this link. Due to the island being closed, our Oak Island Tour can be modified to explore the local areas of Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Chester.
Our tour will go as far as the causeway to allow you the chance for photos. We will also stop at the newly opened Oak Island Treasure Shop if you wish to pickup and merchandises such as t-shirts and hats.
Additionally, we can arrange and recommend seeing Oak Island by boat. Please contact me for more details. Thank you for your understanding.
